The Wilds

Mixed-reality performance

The Wilds is a mixed-reality performance work for three dancers integrating music, light, and immersive visual media. Through choreography, sound, and generative visuals, the piece explores patterns of nature—from the subatomic to the cosmological—revealing interconnection, entanglement, and adaptation.

The performance follows three bodies navigating their relationship to each other and to their environment, with movement mapped and extended across the stage through real-time media systems. Contemporary dance and dance-theater choreography is paired with an electro-acoustic score built from field recordings and sound design, alongside visuals composed of pure light and 3D LED wall media.

Using motion capture, machine learning, biofeedback, real-time animation, generative music, spatial audio, and responsive lighting, The Wilds creates a live feedback loop between human physicality and technology—imagining an emergent, interrelated future between humans, nature, and machines.
